Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pull a permit for my project?

It depends. We will assess your situation, and if a permit is required for your project, we will work to fulfill the unique steps that your job requires.

Do I, as a homeowner, need to provide detailed drawings?

Our experienced draftsmen can create a detailed custom plan for your deck or pergola. It does help us in this process if the homeowner can provide a brief sketch or example photos, especially if unique elements are envisioned.

How much can I expect to spend on my Deck, Fence or Pergola?

This question, to many, feels like the scariest part of any project. Construction is not cheap, and there is always the concern of the feared ‘Fly by Night Contractor’. The saying, “You get what you pay for” is twice as true for the construction world. Yes, there are builders who charge less for their services, but our clients refer us to their friends and family time and time again, since our quality of service stands head and shoulders above the rest. TAVA prides itself on providing high quality custom Decks, Fences and Pergolas at great value.

What If I want to make changes to the original plan?

Change happens, and we are no strangers to working with every client to make their vision a reality. If you want to make a change to the original plan, we will walk through the revisions and cost adjustments (if there are any) and once a decision has been made it will be documented and signed. That way, you can have peace of mind knowing that there won’t be any surprises in the expected price once you receive your final invoice.

How long will it take for my project to be completed?

Usually, the planning and scheduling phase takes longer than the building phase. Once an estimate is agreed upon and a contract is in place, your placement in the schedule will be confirmed based on the nature of your project and those that are on the schedule ahead of you. During any waiting times additional design work and required permitting can be accomplished. As your project start date gets closer, we will be in contact with you to notify you of any potential changes whether earlier or later. Once we get started and from the first day of construction to the last, we rigorously push ourselves to finish on time. Colorado weather can be unpredictable however, so in the case of delays, clients are always notified.

Does TAVA have a warranty policy?

Yes, warranties can vary based on whether you are building or restoring a deck, fence or pergola, but all of our contracts contain the relevant warranty language based on your specific project.
